What BGP route withdrawals mean

BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) is how networks announce which IP prefixes they can reach. A route withdrawal means a previously reachable prefix is no longer advertised to the global routing system, reducing or removing reachability from external networks.

What upstream dependencies are

Upstream dependencies describe external networks (transit providers, DNS resolvers, CDNs, or satellite links) that Iranian networks rely on to reach the global internet. Dependency tables summarize which upstreams appear repeatedly in evidence bundles.

How to read the timeline

The timeline lists events in UTC time order. Each item includes the event type, the evidence hash, and a link to the evidence bundle used to validate the observation. Multiple signal types occurring together can indicate broad connectivity stress.

What confidence scores represent

Confidence scores summarize corroboration across public datasets. Higher scores mean multiple independent sources align on a signal. Scores do not assert intent or attribution.
